Candlelit Breakfast in Camden Maine

Our signature three-course candlelit breakfast is available each morning from 8:00 am – 9:30 am in our dining room or dining deck, weather permitted.  Currently, during times when we aren't able to offer breakfast outside or when the Inn is at least 50% booked, there will be two breakfast seatings - one at 8 a.m. and the other at 9:30 a.m.  This allows us to provide enough social distance for guests while dining.  For those early risers, locally roasted, fresh brewed coffee and juices are available beginning at 7:00 a.m. Guests interested in a later breakfast but early coffee can also request our Jump Start Coffee Delivery Service, which begins at 7:30 a.m. We deliver a carafe of coffee and the morning's prepared sweet bread/coffee cake to your room for a more leisurely start to your your day!  Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or if you have an early appointment and need a continental to go breakfast bag!

As you leave your guest room in the morning, you’ll be greeted by the aromas of freshly ground and brewed coffee and baked goods originating from the Inn’s kitchen. You’ll hear the soft sounds of relaxing music and find local newspapers to read in our common rooms. Candlelit tables beckon you with fresh flowers. Guests dine at linen-covered tables for two in our dining room, or weather permitting, on the deck.

Our bountiful breakfast typically* begins with a European-inspired continental buffet featuring:

  • The Inn’s own granola;
  • a variety of yogurt with your choice of assorted fresh berries and/or dried fruit;
  • slowly cooked rolled oats with your choice of brown sugar, cinnamon, walnuts, and raisins;
  • freshly baked morning sweet bread or coffee cake;
  • a yeast slicing bread made at the Inn with your choice of assorted jams;
  • hard-boiled or soft boiled eggs (on the mornings that eggs are not the entrée);
  • locally produced cheeses, chutneys and pepper jelly;
  • Inn prepared toasted herb bread to be paired with cheeses;
  • olives, artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes and red peppers;
  • soppressata, capicola, prosciutto, and maple brown sugar ham.

The above first course options are followed by our second course, which is prepared fruit dish (examples include a Maine Blueberry Tart w/Lemon and Raspberry Coulis or a Grilled Pineapple and Banana Cairn with fresh strawberry puree and vanilla creme drizzle) The third course, alternates between a savory or sweet breakfast entree . Organic and locally produced ingredients are used when available.
*As a result of Covid, our breakfast buffet has temporarily been disbanded and in it's place is a "virtual buffet" where guests pre-select all the items they would like for first course off a menu which contains all the food choices that were available on our buffet, with the addition of a fresh berry and melon cup.

In-Room Breakfast Service

Want to have a later breakfast in your PJs? We can make that happen! Just fill out the Menu Selection form in your room and return it to us the night before and we'll deliver a continental breakfast to your room the next morning at 10:00 am.  In-room breakfast service includes both first and second course items on the menu that day but does not include the third-course entree.

For those interested in starting their day out with something other than coffee and juice – consider ordering a Mimosa, Bloody Mary or Screw Driver from our bar! Bar charges are added to your room.
