Your Deposit & Lodging Payment
Your deposit can be made by either check or credit card. If you are interested in paying by check, call us (207.230.4028) and we will hold the room for you pending receipt of your check. Your deposit will reflect one night's lodging for stays of one to two nights. If your reservation is for three or more nights, your deposit will be equal to 50% of your stay.
On the morning of your arrival, the remaining balance will be processed on the card on file. Any additional charges you incur while at the Inn will be added to your bill and you will be charged for those items on the morning of your departure. You will be emailed a statement each time a charge has been added to your credit card. If you prefer to have your remaining lodging balance charged to a different card, please let us know in advance and we can easily do that!
Arrival & Checkout Times
We are looking forward to having you as our guest and are preparing your room for your arrival, which will be ready by 3:00 p.m. If you are in the area and would like to check in earlier, just give us a call. The earliest a room might be ready for check-in would be 2 pm and priority is given to our direct booked guests. If your room isn't ready, feel free to leave your car in our parking lot and take a walk to the harbor and village!
Our standard check-in time is between 3 pm - 8 pm. If you will be arriving later than 8 pm please let us know so we can plan accordingly.
Check-out time is at 11:00 a.m. If you need a later checkout, please let us know and if possible, we'll gladly accommodate your request. Again, a late check-out is a benefit offered to our direct booked guests and they have priority status.
Rates & Room Occupancy
Rates are for double occupancy.
All rooms are for a maximum of two individuals with the exception of The Grace Bailey and Mattie Suites. Both of these suites can accommodate up to a total of three individuals, including children and infants. Children and infants cannot be accommodated in a room that has a maximum capacity of two unless they are the second guest. There is a $40 charge per additional person in the two suites that can accommodate a third guest.
Please note we will not exceed the stated room occupancy maximum. Should you arrive with more guests in your party than the stated room maximum, you will either have to reserve an additional room if available, or your reservation will be canceled and your deposit will be forfeited. We will not be able to accommodate your stay. Children and infants count to the guest maximum. If you have any questions about room occupancy, please call in advance of your reservation. All rates are subject to a Maine lodging tax of 9%.
Additional Information
Smoke-Free Inn
We are a smoke-free inn and property and we thank you in advance for your cooperation. You will be charged a $200 fee should you decide to smoke on the premises.
Alcoholic Beverages
For your convenience and enjoyment, we have a full liquor license. Should you prefer to bring your own alcoholic beverages, those must be consumed in the privacy of your own room and not in any of our common rooms or outside patio and decks.
Traveling with Children
While children are welcome at the Inn, our property is best suited for children 8 and older as we have no child safety accessories. Regardless of a child's age, he/she counts as one of two guests in our guest rooms and one of three in our suites. We do not allow additional children in guest rooms/suites which exceed the stated room and suite maximums.
Healthy Travel
With guest safety as a primary concern, we expect you to only visit the Inn if you are feeling well and have no symptoms of infection or illness within 14 days of your planned arrival and have not been in the company of others who have been ill during that same period. If this isn't the case, please contact us and we will work with you to reschedule your visit or issue a refund or a credit voucher towards a future reservation. We are not able to honor a reservation if a guest arrives and is visibly ill. Thank you for your understanding.
Firearms Not Permitted
Firearms, and other weapons, are not allowed on the property or in the Inn; thank you in advance for your cooperation!
Pet Free Property
Sorry, we are not able to accommodate pets, but we are happy to recommend nearby kennels for your consideration.
Canceling Your Reservation
COVID Cancellation
During the height of Covid, we were offering our guests full refunds regardless of when the cancellation occurred, provided they booked directly with us and not through a third-party booking agent. Now that we seem to have moved from this most critical stage of the virus, we have returned to our standard cancellation policy which is outlined below. Should things worsen with Covid, and travel restrictions be imposed, we will again provide full refunds for cancellations regardless of when they occur. You can also elect to accept a credit voucher in lieu of a refund and receive a 10% discount when you re-book your stay.
All Types of Bookings - Direct and Third Party
Should you need to cancel your reservation 14 or more days prior to your planned arrival, regardless of how your book your reservation (direct or through a booking agent like Expedia or Booking.com), we will refund your deposit in full.
Direct Bookings
14 Or More Days' Notice
If you booked your reservation directly through us by either calling or reserving your room on our website, and need to cancel you will never forfeit your deposit - this is not the case if you used a third-party booking agent. You receive a full refund when providing 14 days or more notice of your desire to cancel.
Fewer Than 14 Days' Notice
Should you have to cancel with fewer than 14 days' notice of your arrival date, and we are able to re-book your room, we will refund your deposit in full.
If we are not able to re-book your room, we will credit your deposit towards a future stay at the Captain Swift Inn. You will not lose your deposit - it's just one of the many benefits of our Book Direct & Save benefit.
Online Third-Party Booking Agents
Should you need to cancel a reservation that you made through an online booking agent, you will need to call them directly to do so. We are not able to cancel the reservation for you.
When you cancel with 14 or more days' notice, your deposit is refunded in full. Should you cancel with fewer than 14 days notice, your deposit is forfeited.
No Show
Should you have a reservation with us and not show or call, we will process the full stay of your visit on your credit card on file.
