A Look Into the History of Captain Swift Inn

The Captain Swift Inn has a history spanning over two centuries. Built in 1810 as a private residence, it became an inn in the early 1990s and is named after Captain Frank Swift, the creator of Maine Windjammer Cruises. This company is Maine’s oldest continually operating sailing vacation company, and to this day, several of Swift’s ships grace Camden’s harbor. All nine guest rooms and suites at the Captain Swift Inn are named after ships in Swift’s fleet.
